![]() ![]() My other stand-out character in TWOTQ is Valyn, Casteel’s Dad. He is probably going to get as much hype as Kieran did when From Blood and Ash was first released. The Draken has the sassiest personality and provides the lightness that some of these chapters really need. ![]() It does make a little bit of sense due to the more serious setting of this book, it makes sense.Ĭoming to the being that stole the show, Reaver is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Their banter is something that a lot of us fans really appreciate. I wanted to see more of other characters like Delano, Emil, Vonetta, and Perry. What started as a series revolving around our main character, Penellaphe “Poppy” Balfour, and her role as the Chosen One is now much bigger than herself. Right from the get-go, we know that the stakes are extremely high. While it’s tough to see Cas go through this torture of being captured by the Blood Queen, it’s good to be in someone else’s head other than Poppy’s. This book picks up immediately after TCOGB, and we are thrown face-first into Casteel Da’Neer’s POV. The primal lore and all these different beings that the author writes about in terms of their powers, and how these characters all interact with each other is a joy to read. ![]() It reads like a High Fantasy book and ties into A Shadow in The Ember (”ASITE”) very well. If you think that the world-building in The Crown of Gilded Bones “TCOGB” was good, it was 100% better in TWOTQ. The War of Two Queens henceforth referred to as “TWOTQ” is the fourth installment in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. ![]()
